BZH designs, builds and sells single family homes, principally in the Southeast and Southwest regions of the U.S., TX and NJ. Former CEO Mccarthy out June 13, 2011 3 months after agreeing to give back $6.5 million in bonuses and profits from the sale of company stock as part of an agreement with federal regulators. Regulators said Beazer had inflated profits in the 2006 fiscal year by falsely recording home-financing transactions and manipulating other results. McCarthy wasn't personally charged, but anti-fraud laws require senior executives to repay bonuses, incentive pay and stock profits during the period of the accounting violation.
